In the first contest for the Democrats’ as mentioned in their presidential nominating calendar, Joe Biden has won the South Carolina Primary by a huge margin; he has shows that the Black voters are with him and Biden has also proved how he is on the right path, heading towards renomination.

As mentioned earlier, US President Joe Biden, who is eyeing for his second term, has one at the South Carolina Primary which is an important victory in this US Presidential Elections 2024. According to reports by Reuters, “U.S. President Joe Biden won the South Carolina Democratic primary — the first officially sanctioned race of the party’s nominating season — with early returns showing him dominating two other candidates, according to Edison Research projections.” Biden aimed at being the champion of the Black Voters in South Carolina and that is exactly what happened.
As mentioned in a New York Times report, Joe Biden won the South Carolina Democratic Primary by a huge margin; Joe Biden secured 116,389 votes, Marianna Williamson won 2,417 votes and Dean Phillips won 1,972 votes.
Biden Wins South Carolina Primary: Why Is This Victory Important?
This victory is a very important one for Joe Biden as it gives him the first set of delegates which are required for him to claim the nomination at the Democratic Party’s convention scheduled to take place in August this year. This win is also crucial in terms of the Joe Biden vs Donald Trump competition as recent polls had suggested a closely contested race between the two expected opponents in the US Presidential Elections.
In a social media post on ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter), Representative Dean Phillips of Minnesota, who is a challenger of Biden, congratulated the latter and said, “Cracking four digits never felt so good!” Phillips said, referring to the roughly 1,400 votes he currently has, as opposed to Biden’s 82,500. “Congratulations, Mr. President, on a good old fashioned whooping. See you in Michigan.”
