As mentioned earlier, the spokeswoman of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has made a public announcement that former Pak PM Nawaz Sharif has nominated his brother Shehbaz Sharif as the Prime Ministerial Candidate for the party. This announcement comes after no political party could secure a clear win at the Pakistan Elections 2024 and therefore, a coalition government is being formed.

Coalition Government In Pakistan

A coalition government is being formed with two major parties, namely, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) which is led by Nawaz Sharif and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) which is led by Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari. On the other hand, former cricketer and jailed politician Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has denounced the power-sharing agreement and has also claimed that it is the true voice of the people.

Pentagon On Pakistan Elections 2024

During a press briefing on Tuesday (local time), the Deputy Press Secretary of the Headquarters of the US Department of Defence – Pentagon, Sabrina Singh has said that they are keeping a tab on the Pakistan Elections. Asked whether the Pentagon is monitoring the situation in Pakistan after the elections held on February 8, Sabrina Singh said, “Yeah, we’re certainly monitoring what’s happening there, but I’d direct you to state for more specifics on that.”
