New Delhi: Ayodhya is gearing up for the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha which is scheduled for January 22, 2024 and will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other important dignitaries of the country. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has also extended invitations of the Consecration Ceremony to 56 countries and the temple city has already begun week-long celebrations ahead of the main event. Amid the preparations, the Cyber Security Team of the Union Home Ministry had issued alerts regarding ‘malicious mobile apps’ for ‘VIP Entry’ to the Ayodhya Ram Mandir being sent on WhatsApp by cyber criminals; now, the Ministry of Home Affairs has sent a high-level team to the temple city, to deal with these threats and potential issues arising from it.

MHA Sends High-Level Team To Ayodhya

As mentioned earlier, the Ministry of Home Affairs has sent a special, high-level team to Ayodhya amid cyber threat alerts by the cyber security wing of the Union Home Ministry. According to reports, the joint team includes officials of MHA’s Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITy), Intelligence Bureau (IB), Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) and experts in cyber matters.

Beware Of Cyber Threats Of ‘VIP Entry’ To Ayodhya Temple

This step has been taken by the ministry amid threat alerts issued by the cyber security wing of the MHA urging citizens to be cautious of ‘malicious mobile applications’ which were sent on WhatsApp by cyber criminals related to VIP entry to the temple in Ayodhya. The alert issued read, “Be cautious of a cybercrime alert! There’s a trend of sending malicious mobile applications (APK) or forms related to VIP entry to the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya through WhatsApp or advertisements. These could compromise your device and lead to cybercrime fraud.”

Officials have learned to keep an eye on each and every activity of cyber criminals ahead of the mega event, for which Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the whole world is waiting for the historic Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22.
