Under ‘Mission Rozgar’, the state government is recruiting 60,244 police constables to further strengthen the police force, the examinations for which are being conducted on February 17 and 18 at 2385 centres in all 75 districts of the state. A total of 2,385 examination centers have been established across all districts, where 48,17,441 candidates will appear for their examination. According to the report by news agency ANI, more than 6 lakh candidates from states other than Uttar Pradesh have applied, including 2,67,305 candidates from Bihar, 74,769 from Haryana, 17,112 from Jharkhand, 98,400 from Madhya Pradesh, 42,259 from Delhi, 97,277 from Rajasthan, 14,627 from Uttarakhand, 5,512 from West Bengal, 3,151 from Maharashtra, and 3,404 from Punjab.
It is reported that a total of 48,17,441 candidates have applied for the exam, including 15,48,969 female candidates. On Saturday, February 17, a total of 12,04,360 candidates will appear in the exam in both the first and second shifts, and on Sunday, February 18, a total of 12,04,361 candidates will appear in the first shift, and 12,04,360 candidates in the second shift, ANI reported.

To ensure the integrity of the examination, 50 per cent of the personnel appointed at the examination centre have been appointed by the District Magistrates and the remaining 50 percent have been appointed by Center Administrators (Principal). Meanwhile cheating and using unfair means to clear the examination were strictly prohibited. However, more than 120 people were arrested across Uttar Pradesh in the last two days for impersonating candidates in the police constable recruitment examination and cheating, officials said on Saturday, news agency PTI reported.
122 arrested across UP for impersonation, cheating in constable recruitment exam
Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar said among the 122 arrested in total, 15 were in Etah, nine each in Mau, Prayagraj and Siddharthanagar, eight in Ghazipur, seven in Azamgarh, six in Gorakhpur, five in Jaunpur, four in Firozabad, three each in Kaushambi and Hathras, two each in Jhansi, Varanasi, Agra and Kanpur, and one each in Ballia, Deoria and Bijnor. Kumar conducted a surprise inspection at two examination centres in the Gomtinagar area of Lucknow earlier in the day. Additional Director General of the STF Amitabh Yash told news agency PTI that those arrested were using chits. Some were arrested for impersonating actual candidates, while some people were arrested for duping candidates, he added.
In eastern Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia district, a man allegedly took money from candidates on the promise that he would clear the exam for them. According to a statement issued by the Ballia Police, Saleem Ansari was arrested by a team from the Rasda police station. Police seized Rs 8.99 lakh from Ansari which he had allegedly taken from candidates appearing in the test, it said, PTI reported.

The UP Constable Recruitment examination admit card features a picture of the Indian actress along with the candidate’s name, ‘Sunny Leon.’ The exam date on the admission card is February 17, and it appears that the same information was used for registration on the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRB) website as well.
