New Delhi: A 30-year-old man was allegedly shot dead inside Union Minister Kaushal Kishore’s home in Lucknow. A licensed pistol under the name of the union minister’s son was found at the spot. The victim was believed to be a friend of the minister’s son Vikas Kishore, police said.

“A person named Vinay Shrivastav was shot dead. A pistol has been recovered which belongs to Vikas Kishore (the son of Union Minister Kaushal Kishore). Further investigation is underway. A forensic team has also arrived and we are also searching CCTV visuals,” police was quoted as saying in a report by news agency ANI.

An FIR under murder charges was filed in connection to the case. 30-year-old Vinay Srivastava, the victim, was shot in the head, Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Zone, Rahul Raj, said, according to a report by Times of India.

Accused Will Not Be Spared, Says Union Minister Kishore

Union Minister Kishore said he had “no idea” who was at the residence when the incident took place. “This is a matter of investigation. Forensic teams and police have started the investigation. The person involved will not be spared. We are standing in support of the family members of the deceased. I have no idea who was at the residence when the incident took place,” Kishore said.

Meanwhile, the body of the victim has been sent for post-mortem.
