Arun Yogiraj, who gained fame for crafting the idol of Lord Ram, has revealed that Ram Lalla looked completely different after the Alankaran (ornamentation) ceremony performed in Ayodhya during the Pran Pratishtha ceremony. According to the sculptor, the Lord’s idol underwent a complete transformation after the Alankaran ceremony during the Pran Pratishtha.

“Nirman hote samay alag the, sthaphit hone ke baad alag the. Mujhe laga ki ye mera kaam nahi hai. Ye to bahut alag dikhte hain. Bhagwan ne alag roop le liye hain (Yogiraj stated that the idol looked completely different at various stages. After the Alanakaran ceremony, Ram Lalla looked completely different.)”

Notably, Yogiraj has been in the spotlight ever since Ram Lalla’s face was revealed after Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the grand ceremony in the holy city on Monday He stated that he was just following the Lord’s orders when he was crafting the idol.
“Lord Ram gave me the order, and I just followed it,” the sculptor said.

Describing his efforts for the past seven months while making the idol, Yogiraj said that making the Lord’s idol was challenging as he contemplated how to complete the idol.
“I had to ensure that the idol adhered to the Shilpa Shashtra. I also made sure that the idol represents a five-year-old form of Lord Ram, capturing the innocence of a child,” he said.

The sculptor highlighted that he used to ask his friends if the eyes of Ram Lalla looked apt and fine. He underlined that it was not an easy task for him to bring the emotion in a stone. He decided to spend as much time as possible with the idol.

“I decided I would be spending a lot of time with the stone, do my homework, study kids’ features, and everything else happened due to Ram Lalla,” he said.
The artist stated that the proportions of facial features (eyes, nose, chin, lips, cheeks, etc) was made by adhering the ancient Shilpa Shastra.
