New Delhi: Meta-owned social media platform, WhatsApp is working on a new feature that would enable its users to upload a video for up to 60 seconds long, allowing them to share longer snippets, of their lives, and stories without having to make edits and trims. WhatsApp had previously set the limit for uploading updates to 30 seconds, and is now testing the new feature, which aims to extend this limit up to a minute. The new feature is similar to the other Meta owned social media platform, Instagram, which supports only up to 60 seconds on its Stories.

Here are the complete details of the upcoming WhatsApp Status update.

A WABetaInfo report states that WhatsApp will soon be able to post video status updates for up to one minute, instead of the 30 seconds that they were previously limited to. This update is now only available to a select group of beta testers, who can test the functionality by trying to post movies longer than the 30-second limit to their status. It is crucial to remember that in order to watch longer videos provided through status updates, WhatsApp might need to be updated.

Benefits Of One Minute Long Video

The initiative to extend the duration of the video status is probably a reaction to user complaints. Users have often asked to be able to submit longer films as status updates over time. When the 30-second time limit was in place, users frequently found themselves at a disadvantage when attempting to provide longer glimpses into their life or tell a complete tale. Thanks to the one-minute limit, users may now post longer videos without having to make difficult modifications or sacrifice the meaning they wish to get across.

How To Use The New 1 Minute Status Feature

To use the new WhatsApp 1-minute status feature, you can follow these steps based on the information from the provided sources:

  • Launch your WhatsApp app on your iOS or Android device.
  • Open the “Status” section and tap the little plus icon next to “My status.”
  • Select the video you want to upload from your Photos app or gallery.
  • Ensure that the video is not more than 1 minute
  • Otherwise, WhatsApp will automatically split your video into 60-second segments automatically, allowing you to post them as clips on your status.
  • Add any required caption to the Status video
  • Post the video status.

The feature to share videos of up to 1 minute in length via status updates is available to some beta testers that install the latest update of WhatsApp beta for Android from the Google Play Store, and it is rolling out to even more people over the coming weeks.
